Company History

While most successful companies along the aisles of major high-end department stores have been around for more than 40 years, Smashbox has come into its own relatively recently. The founders of Smashbox Cosmetics are Dean and Davis Factor, brothers who are also great grandsons of the renown Max Factor. Combining their talent and genetics, they created a makeup brand to rival the likes of Lancome and Maybelline.

Dean is the business man, with the MBA from University of Southern California. While Davis handles the creative side as a fashion expert photographer with real life experience from Jennifer Lopez to Vanity Fair. The starting year was 1991 as a photo studio in Los Angeles… but, by the year 1997 it had expanded into Smashbox cosmetics.

Smashbox Today

Currently an international sensation, Smashbox cosmetics has moved past its simple luxurious roots as a high fashion studio on the streets of Los Angeles.
